Wondafrash Edema has worked in coffee for over 10 years. He started as an exporter, handling coffees for his family members, almost all of whom work in coffee. In 2017, when Ethiopia changed the rules to allow exporters to also produce coffee, he began his coffee farming journey.
Our import partner at MOII Coffee, Firaol Ahmed, has worked with Wondafrash since 2024 to help bring his coffees to the North American market, and we're so happy to feature it for the first time in our cafe.
This coffee is a classic Ethiopian washed coffee, sourced from Wondafrash’s only washing station—the Hambella Station—which sits at about 2300 masl in the Hambella district of Guji. The cherries for this coffee are collected from around 40 nearby smallholder farmers in the area. After processing, they are dried on raised African beds for 8-12 days.
In the cup, you'll find bright and refreshing notes of Peach Rings, Honeydew, and Black Cherry!
