Tasting Notes: Syrupy Cocoa, Cherry, Toasted Almond

Our espresso blend was created to be rich, sweet, and complex. It plays well with milk, but it shines on its own too. It's perfect for espresso, and also great for your favorite filtered brew method. We buy enough of all the coffees in the blend, so it stays consistent for you throughout the year!

Syrupy Body, Nutty, Perfect for Cortado

    Mar 29th 2026

Great brew. gives an ever so slight syrupy full body feel with slight nutty undertones. no bitterness at all. Perfect for a cortado or dry cappuccino for a purist. Works well with the home espresso set up. dialing / output / times - very consistent . 18-19 grams / 36-38 g shot/ 36-40 seconds in my hands.

    Discovered Sunflower in Nashville, Wonderful

    Jan 6th 2026

I’ve tried literally 100 roasts from different suppliers in my quest to produce the perfect morning espresso. I stumbled onto 8th & Roast’s Sunflower while visiting my daughter in Nashville. I enjoyed it in the cafe and bought a bag for home. It’s wonderful! Complex, easy to brew, and delicious. Highly recommended

    Best espresso ever.

    Dec 12th 2024

I purchased this at my local Kroger because of the intriguing name. This is possibly the most delicious espresso I’ve ever had! The flavors are exactly as described, and the beans are so fresh and present a beautiful crema in the shot of espresso.

what is the difference between single origin coffee and coffee blends?

single origin coffee comes from a specific geographic region, or in 8th & Roast’s case, a farm or family of farms. this allows for a dialed-in flavor profile that carries the trademark of the area where the coffee was grown, with elements like climate, elevation, and soil as factors. blends are created when our roasters combine coffees of a different origin and/or process in a deliberate way, creating a unique flavor profile.

where do you roast your beans?

our roasting facility and training lab is located in the heart of nashville at 2637 grandview ave. while it is not open to the public on a daily basis, it is where we host our community classes.

i want to learn more about coffee. do you offer classes?

we offer classes occasionally, with topics ranging from ‘coffee 101’ to ‘latte art’ to ‘home brewing and extraction.’ check out our classes page for the most updated information.

how do i store my coffee?

try to avoid heat, light, moisture, and oxygen to keep your beans at their freshest. our bags are designed for great storage, and we recommend keeping them in a dry, dark pantry for optimal storage. we don’t recommend storing beans in the refrigerator.

what is common voice?

Common Voice is the sister brand of 8th & Roast Coffee Co. originally launched by good citizen coffee, it is now part of the 8th & Roast family when we acquired the brands. common voice provides more people with access to boutique coffee and enables farmers to sell more of their available crops year after year. the resulting blends are produced and processed to the same standards as all our coffees.
